It was the shortest day of the year for a December Virginia wedding. Hot chocolate was prepared for the cocktail hour. A warm coat hung from a door handle for the bride to wear that day. A kids hockey game was taking place on the outdoor ice rink behind the hotel as Lindsay and Joe got ready for the day where they would become husband and wife. It was a beautiful winter day just before Christmas that oddly happened to be sunny and 70 degrees!
Every couple that we work with tends to have an underlying experience or set of values that draws them together and serves as a foundation for their relationship. For Lindsay and Joe this was their Christian faith, which is something that Bernadette and I can relate to a lot with our own relationship and our story. Lindsay and Joe met through a college campus missionary group called FOCUS. They're starting their marriage out by going on the adventure of sharing their faith with other college students around the country and serving as missionaries. Their love and example of life inspired us, and we're so excited to share the story of the first day of their marriage.
