We met Kalsoom in Pakistan. She Skyped us from her hotel on a business trip there, while in her pajamas at what might have been one in the morning. That first conversation was enough to predict that we were going to be part of something amazing in October. If you've ever met Kalsoom there is a powerful excitement that follows her everywhere. It makes you feel at ease, ready to laugh, and ready to enjoy life.
We met Jay in our living room. He drove Kalsoom out to meet us last February. Although we can't remember the specifics of what we talked about that night we do remember that the wine was good, we laughed a lot, and we sent the two of them home rather late for a weeknight. From that first encounter we immediately knew that Jay is that solid guy you'd be proud to say is your friend. When he speaks it's calming and positive, and it's hard not to walk away from conversation feeling better than when you started.
This was a wedding that was full of so much deliberate sincerity that there were times where we had to remind ourselves to keep taking pictures because we were getting completely lost in the beauty of every fantastic detail of the day. This is a glimpse into our view of the day that Kalsoom and Jay were married.
